Learning how to build mental toughness just got a lot easier!
Here’s what I did.
If you haven’t heard of Ben Newman it won’t be long. Ben fell into my lap when I cold connected with him on Linkedin and asked to connect. Perfect example that you’ll never get what you don’t ask for!
5 years later we have both feet planted in the Ben Newman camp and he’s helping me re-think how I approach both personal and business challenges. He taught me how to build mental toughness, and its working!
Ben Newman is a little bit like a Lay’s potato chip. You can’t eat just one. He grows on you… quickly.
How to Build Mental Toughness
This past week I attended Ben’s two-day “Mental Toughness Training Boot Camp” with 15 other top insurance producers from around the country. I won’t exaggerate and claim I’ve found the Holy Grail, but in Ben’s unique way he has slapped me upside the head, figuratively speaking. Learning how to build mental toughness is a process and that is exactly what we learned in his 2 day event.

Each of these steps involved deep personal analysis and reflection. We were able to really dive into these topics and pull out the hurdles we were all personally facing. It was an enlightening experience and I have since attended 3 other mental toughness training programs with Ben.
The biggest take away for me was writing down my I am Statement and pulling that back into the daily activity I identified for my Prizefighter day. I now have a structure that helps shape each day and stay focused on my goals.
