5Star Life insurance company is one of my favorite companies to work with as due to the relationships we have built at every level in their organization.
Being an independent life insurance agent is all about having rock solid relationships with your carriers. When you find a good one and build a great relationship, don’t screw it up!
Do they make mistakes? Of course, all the companies do. But the key is knowing that when push comes to shove, you have a direct point of contact vs. being routed to some offshore call center.
I think you get the point I’m making.
We represent a lot of different companies and the vast majority of our production goes to a few. The common denominator of the best life insurance companies we work with is the deep relationships we have built.
5Star is among the top.
They are actively looking to hire more veterans due to their historical roots working with the United State military. I highly suggest if you are looking for civilian veteran jobs, this is one you shouldn’t pass this opportunity up.

Who is the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA)
AFBA was established in 1947 to offer life insurance to active military members. This was a major benefit at the time as additional life insurance was not available to those on the battlefield. One of the really interesting facts about the AFBA is it was founded in the basement of the Pentagon by General of the Army, Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower’s vision of serving the military would continue and eventually expand into the successful organization the AFBA is today.
AFBA offers a variety of services and financial benefits to its members. Members are offered life insurance directly through 5Star Life Insurance and are offered home and auto insurance through a collaboration of AFBA and GEICO. Life insurance is separated into categories based on occupation within the government, and service and family status. Other AFBA services include:
- College scholarships for families of military members who were killed in combat or terrorism.
- Financial planning services
- Final expense funding and planning for senior citizens ages 50-85
- Personal and business banking through 5Star Bank.
Holding strong to its roots, AFBA is led by Chairman and President Ralph “Ed” Eberhart.
General Eberhart was U.S. Northern Command and Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command” (NORAD) during 9/11 and served in an active duty role in the United States Air Force for more than 36 years. General Eberhart currently serves as the Trustee and Chairman of 5Star Bank and 5Star Life Insurance Company. Leadership from General Eberhart and the rest of the Board at AFBA is the driving force for its continued success.
Located in Alexandria, VA, AFBA is one largest providers of life insurance to men and women killed in an active war zone. Offering insurance coverage that continues to have no combat or terrorism exclusions is one of the major benefits that separate AFBA from the competition. It also offers no restrictions for occupation, activity, aviation, avocation, travel, geographic rating, or off duty death. This is a prime example of why veterans join AFBA and 5Star Life Insurance.
It’s absolutely one of the best jobs for veterans. (No you don’t need to be a veteran to become an agent with 5Star Life)
