What Are Medicare Advantage Plans?

Medicare Advantage plans (also called Medicare Part C) are an alternative to Original Medicare. Offered by private insurance companies, these plans bundle together Medicare Part A (hospital insurance), Part B (medical insurance), and often prescription drug coverage (Part D) into a single health plan.

Many Tennessee Medicare Advantage plans also provide additional benefits like vision, dental, hearing, and over-the-counter allowances.

These plans include a variety of coverage options, from HMO plans to PPO plans and Special Needs Plans (SNP).  Some companies you can purchase from brokers and some you may need to call directly, below is a list of the most well known names you might see.
